About the Role

We're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Montebello. In this role, you'll support the full AR cycle, ensuring timely billing, accurate posting of payments, and consistent follow-up on outstanding accounts. You'll work closely with customers and internal departments to keep cash flow healthy and financial records up to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and distribute customer invoices in a timely manner

  • Accurately post customer payments (checks, ACH, credit card) to the accounting system

  • Monitor aging reports and follow up on past-due accounts

  • Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, payment plans, and billing questions

  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies or short-pays

  • Maintain detailed and organized AR records

  • Assist with month-end closing activities, including reconciliations and reporting

  • Support audits by providing documentation as needed

  • Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve account issues

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience

  • Strong understanding of AR processes, billing, and collections

  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)

  • Proficiency in Excel and general spreadsheet functions

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong communication and customer-service skills

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or a similar industry

  • Familiarity with cash application and lockbox processing

  • Basic understanding of GAAP
